Get Iqama of a New Born Baby born outside Saudi Arabia

Complete procedure of getting iqama of baby born outside Saudi Arabia involves some steps that you need to complete in your home country and then some other steps to be completed in Saudi Arabia.

Below are the steps that you need to consider in your home country before flying to KSA.

Step 1: Get Birth Certificate and B-Form of Your Baby

For your newborn baby, the very first step is to get your baby’s birth certificate from hospital and then from your Union Council and then apply for a national identity to register your baby as a legal citizen of home country. In Pakistan, you need to get a B-Form only instead of a CNIC/NICOP of a new born. This B-Form has to be taken from NADRA.  Visit NADA office carrying baby’s birth certificate and parent’s identity cards along with a birth certificate issued from Union Council office .

B-Form is basically a children registration form which registers your baby in your family tree in NADRA’s records.

Step 2: Apply for Baby’s Passport in your home Country

For any international travelling, passport is the primary requirement.  Same goes for your newborn baby. You need to follow the procedure of your home country’s passport office to apply for a passport of your newborn baby by furnishing all required documents and filling required forms.

Once a passport has been issued by passport office of your home country, you can proceed to the subsequent steps.

Step 3: Get Polio Vaccination Card for Your Baby

For many countries, it is mandatory to get your baby vaccinated for polio before coming to Saudi Arabia. Make sure that you get your baby vaccinated for polio from medical centers authorized by Saudi Embassy. Get a card from hospital stating that polio vaccine has been taken by your baby.

Step 4: Travel to Saudi Arabia with Your New Born Baby

For new-born baby, you have both options—either you can apply for a visa in your home country from Saudi Embassy/consulate before travelling or else; you can avail the facility of on-arrival visa for your new born baby. A baby with age less than 6 months is allowed to travel with mother (with mother having exit-re-entry visa).

Once you travel with your new born baby and arrive at any airport in Saudi Arabia, you need to tell immigration staff about baby that he or she is newly born. Staff will stamp baby’s passport.  He will write border number on the passport and you will be allowed to proceed.

From here on-wards, subsequent steps will be completed inside Saudi Arabia for getting iqama of your baby born outside KSA.

Step 5: Pay Visa Fees, Dependent Fees for Your Baby Iqama

For a baby born outside Saudi Arabia and brought in Saudi Arabia with on-arrival visa, you will be required to pay a fees of 2000 SR as visa fees. You will also need to pay dependent fees for your baby which is calculated based on the iqama expiry date of the sponsor (father in case baby is under father’s sponsorship).

These are the two main fees types to be paid by you as Iqama fees is normally paid by the employer for the employee which covers whole family under same umbrella.

Step 6: Get Medical Insurance for your New Born Baby

In Saudi Arabia, It is mandatory to have a valid insurance for any resident for iqama issuance or iqama renewal. For your newly born baby outside KSA, after bringing him in Saudi Arabia, It is required to purchase medical insurance policy for him/her before applying for Iqama.

Normally, your Kafeel will handle this and you only need to provide required documents/information to your HR or concerned officials and they will do the needful to bring your child under a legitimate insurance policy.
