For renewal of your car registration and to get new registration card (Istimarah), your car insurance as well as Fahas (MVPI inspection) needs to be valid and updated with MOI and only then you can proceed with the process of vehicle registration renewal. Fahas results are normally updated immediately by the staff at MVPI locations and information is updated in MOI system immediately. However, there is still a possibility that for any reason, information integration between the systems of the two parties doesn’t get updated and you get the error “The inspection certificated of the vehicle is invalid. The VRR for the vehicle cannot be continued, please visit inspection offices to update inspection certificate”.
In this post, I will explain my experience dealing with this issue and I will explain how I get the issue resolved online without even visiting MVPI/Fahas office.
What does this Error Message Mean?
The error message above that you get when trying to renew your vehicle resignation using MOI Absher is self-explanatory. This simply means that your Fahas inspection validity information is either missing or invalid in MOI system and you can’t proceed with the process of renewing your istimarah without getting this information updated/corrected.
The message suggests you to visit Fahas/MVPI inspection office to get your information updated. You can plan and schedule to go to the inspection office and approach the counter directly and present your Istimarah, vehicle chassis no snap, Iqama and your Fahas certificate for the officer to check and do the needful. However, I used a different and convenience option of contacting MVPI staff online to get the issue resolved without the hassle of travelling towards Fahas office in burning hot weathers.
How to Contact Fahas/MVPI Office Online and Get the Issue Resolved
Fahas/MVPI website is a great place not only to get latest information and updated about MVPI services but you can also reach their professional staff online through their Contact Page.
I contacted them online through this page and mentioned the details in the message section and submitted the form.
To my delight, I got an email response from MVPI staff within 10 minutes asking me to provide my car Chasis, Istimarah pictures.
I did the needful and provided them following snaps by replying their email:
- My Car Chassis details (by taking snap from the car)
- My Istimarah Picture
- Picture of Fahas Sticker from my car (Though they didn’t ask for this but just for their reference).
Once I sent them all above details, I got another email reply from MVPI staff within another 15 minutes stating that my Fahas certificate information has been updated with MOI.
I logged-in to my MOI Absher account and tried Istimarah Renew option and the error regarding invalid Fahas was no more there.
