For expatriates living in Saudi Arabia; Absher account on MOI portal plays an important role for a number of purposes including issuance of family visas, exit re-entry visas, querying traffic violations and for various other related services. For logging into your Absher account; every time you are provided with a verification code which is sent on your registered mobile number. In case, if you lost your mobile number for any reasons; you won’t be able to login to your Absher account.
In this post, I will explain the steps to change your mobile number for your Absher account.
Case 1: Old Number is still accessible
If you want to switch your mobile number and your old number registered with your Absher account is still available; you can just login to your MOI Absher account and then choose the option “Edit User Profile” and update your mobile number. You will receive a confirmation code on your newly entered number. Once you insert this confirmation code; your Absher account will be updated and next time; you will be able to login by entering the verification code received on new number.
Case 2: Old number is no more available
In the scenarios where you lost your old phone number (e.g. it has been blocked by the operator/government or lost/stolen accidentally) and you couldn’t get the same number from the operator again; you won’t have any other choice but to get a new mobile number and you won’t be able to login to your Absher account as verification code won’t be retrievable for you.
For updating your mobile number for Absher account in this scenario; you will have to visit Jawazat office or use their KIOSK machines which are deployed in a number of places in different cities of Saudi Arabia. E.g. If you are living in Jeddah; you can find Absher Self Service KIOSK machine in different malls like Red Sea Mall, Aziz Mall, Flamingo Mall etc.
Just visit any of these places and follow the steps in the self service machine to update your mobile number. You will have to enter your Iqama number and then your finger prints and machine will ask you to enter your new number. Then you will receive a verification code on your new number and after entering it; you will get a success message stating that your mobile number has been updated successfully.
