For a new born baby in Saudi Arabia, there are many steps to be performed to get all the required legal documents to reach to the level of getting Iqama of newborn. We have already explained how to get Birth Certificate from Ahwal Madani and also explained in detail how to get Ahwal Madani birth certificate attestation from MOFA. For Pakistani origin families, next important step is to get NICOP. We have explained steps to get NICOP of newborn online in another post. In this post, we will explain how to get Passport for a newborn baby in Pakistan Embassy or Pakistan Consulate in Saudi Arabia.
Steps to Get Passport for Newborn in Saudi Arabia
Steps mentioned in this article for getting passport of newborn Pakistani are based on my experience in Pakistan Consulate Jeddah. However, steps should be similar for applying in Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh or any other consulate.
Documents Required for Applying for Passport of Newborn Pakistani in Saudi Arabia
For newborn Pakistani’s passport application in Saudi Arabia, you need following documents:
* CNIC/NICOP Copy of Father
* CNIC/NICOP Copy of Mother
* NICOP of newborn baby
* Passport Copy of Father
* Passport Copy of Mother
* Iqama Copy of Father
* Iqama Copy of Mother
* Copy of Ahwal Madani Birth Certificate
Since NICOP of the baby is already issued, you don’t need any translation of birth certificate and embassy/consulate accepts copy of the original ahwal madani certificate without any translations.
Steps for Submission of Application for newborn Passport in Pakistan Embassy/Consulate in Saudi Arabia
* Prepare a file with all the above documents. Keep original also with you just in case if they ask for you to show any original documents/passport/iqama/cnic.
* You can either take an appointment or else go direct to the consulate/embassy. For Jeddah Consulate, you can get an appointment for visiting in second half but for the morning session, you can go direct as walk-in without any appointment.
* Staff at the entrance will check your file and will ensure that all documents are attached duly. If anything is missing, he will inform you otherwise he will write your token number in your paper and will ask you to go inside and proceed with next steps.
* First go to the counter and provide all your documents file to the staff. He will check the documents and ask you to pay the fees. I paid 143 SR for 5 years valid, 36 pages urgent passport of my newborn baby.
* Next, At your turn, go to photo section to get your baby photographed. For families, consulate in Jeddah has special privilege and families can go straight without waiting for their token number. Staff will take pictures of your newborn baby. Make sure your baby is well awake as pictures need to be with open eyes and camera facing.
* For newborn baby, finger prints are not required so you just need to go to the finger prints counter and they will simply stamp your token and ask you to go to the next section for documents submission.
* For documents submission, staff will provide you printed form with all details of your baby and ask you to go through it and ensure all information is correct.
* Once you have gone through the form, you just need to submit the documents.
* After submission, optionally you can go to Aramex Counter and opt for home delivery services. For within Jeddah, they charged 20 SAR as delivery fees and told me that passport will get delivered to my home within 15 days.
