What is MNP (Mobile Number Portability)?

MNP is a service for telecom users to switch or change their mobile network from one operator to another without changing existing mobile number and code. For example, if you are using Mobily SIM with a number 054 1234567 and you are not satisfied with the services of your existing operator or you want to switch to another network for any reasons, you can use MNP services to switch to the desired network transparently without a hassle of getting a new number.

Steps to Switch Mobile Network in Saudi Arabia

If you are an active user of any of the available mobile operator in Saudi Arabia (e.g. STC, Zain, Mobily, Virgin) and you want to switch to a different operator, you can do so using MNP services.

Following are the steps to follow in order to Switch Mobile Network in Saudi Arabia.

  • Visit the customer care office of the network operator to which you are interested to switch. E.g. if you want to switch from Zain to STC network, you will have to visit STC office.
  • At your turn, inform the officer that you are interested to switch your mobile network from operator X to their network.
  • Officer will ask you to provide your original iqama and he will initiate the request for MNP.
  • Once he has done required steps, he will provide you a new SIM card for your new network.
  • The newly provided SIM card will remain in-active till the time your MNP request is accepted by existing operator.
  • Once your MNP request is approved by existing operator, your new SIM will become active.
