Car Tinting Rules in Saudi Arabia
* A general rule of thumb is that you should not tint your car windows to such a level where a passenger sitting in your car becomes invisible from the outside.
* Your car rear windows should be tinted in such a way that it doesn’t behave as a mirror (from outside a person shouldn’t be seeing its own reflection only).
* You are generally not allowed to tint your vehicle front windows however with special permission (medical reasons) you can tint to a certain acceptable level maintaining sufficient transparency.
* Tinting with any kind of graphics is not allowed for rear or front windows.
* In any circumstances, your front and rear windshield is not allowed to be tinted as it results in a safety hazard.
* For Taxis/Limousines or rental service cars, Tinting is not allowed .
* For two door cars, tinting is not allowed.
* The material which is used for tinting of your car should be environment friendly and shouldn’t cause any kind of environmental issues or pollution. In general, you should yourself ensure that the material being used is of a better quality as a poor quality tinting material can be a health hazard for the passengers as well.
Please note that it is your responsibility as a car owner to ensure that all these rules are followed while getting your car windows tinted and you need to clarify all this to the tinting service providers as it is quite possible that they ignore or omit any such conditions and as a result you might get penalized once caught by traffic police (Moroor).
