Can you Drive in Saudi Arabia While on Visit Visa?
If you are a resident (Iqama holder); For Driving in Saudi Arabia, you need to have a valid license from KSA obtained through a formal process. However, if you are a GCC citizen, you are allowed to drive using your GCC driving license as well. But for those who are on a visit visa in KSA from any country; are allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia if they have a valid International License (International Driving License).
Following conditions must be fulfilled by a visitor on Visit Visa in Saudi Arabia to be eligible for driving in Saudi Arabia:
- A valid International Driving License which shouldn’t be expired.
- A valid visit visa (you are not allowed to over-stay and hence no question of eligibility of driving after visa expiry).
Visit Visa in Saudi Arabia is issued either single-entry visa or Multi-Entry visa. In either case, you can drive on your International license if both of the above conditions are met. However, you MUST follow all the driving rules of the Kingdom for your safety and safety of others on the road.
